A talented Hove youngster has written, recorded and released a Christmas single – to help the young people facing homelessness that we support.
Ten-year-old singer Scarlett Chapman is hoping her single Song For Hope will be a Christmas hit – and raise a substantial sum for Depaul UK’s #ShareHope winter campaign.
Scarlett said: “I am very happy to be able to help Depaul’s #ShareHope Campaign. They are bringing so much hope to thousands of young people who are homeless or may become homeless during the pandemic.
“I love what Depaul does, taking in young people when they can’t cope with their personal situations. Depaul gives them a house to live in and a normal life. I have read their stories and about how being with Depaul has given them hope. It reminded me so much of my song that I knew Depaul was the charity I wanted to support.”
The 10-year-old, who lives in Hove with her parents and little sister, added: “Depaul has taken in so many young people and helped them flourish and learn to live by themselves, rather than them having to cope on the streets. It is really nice to share hope!”
Depaul UK Head of Communications Ollie Wilson, said: “We are very grateful to the rising star Scarlett for supporting our #ShareHope Campaign with her amazing song. She has great talent and I hope everyone in Brighton and Hove gets behind her Song For Hope, which can do so much to help young people experiencing homelessness.”
Film students from Brighton’s Screen and Film School and a partner from film production company Graded Films generously gave up their time to make a professional video for Song For Hope.
