A breakdown in family relationships is the leading cause of homelessness for young people in the UK. At Depaul UK, we believe that prevention is vital to support young people and their families to stay together.

Following the recent government advice that we should all stay at home, we understand that being at home for a long-period of time can be difficult and that current restrictions due to the Covid-19 virus can put a lot of pressure on family relationships.

We also understand that this is a worrying time for many young people and their families and it can be difficult to get help and support from friends and other family members at the moment.

If things are getting difficult at home, and you are struggling with the relationships you have with others, we encourage you to get some help and support. There are a number of options available and we encourage you to seek advice and support as soon as possible.

Here at Depaul UK, we offer family support and mediation services in South Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, across the North East and London. Working with young people aged 11-25 and their families, providing support, advice and guidance to help improve their relationships with each other and reduce arguments and conflict in the home.

In line with government and PHE guidance around social distancing, we have paused our face to face sessions and providing support through different methods, utilising video and conference calling so that we are still able to offer support at a time where families are facing increasing challenges.

We have capacity to work with more families so if you or someone you know could benefit from family support or mediation, please get in touch with our staff, who can help to find the right solution for your situation.
